1955 Double Die Lincoln Cent
The 1955 Double Die Lincoln Cent is one of the most well known mint errors. Together with the 1937-D Three Legged Buffalo Nickel, this mint error is so popular that it is often considered a key date. This error resulted from the misalignment of one of the mint dies used for striking the coin. As a result, there is visible doubling on the date and all of the mint inscriptions.
